Exhibition — Online Orders Available -企画展- オンライン受注会始めます

Last month, from March 17 to March 27,
we held our first-ever special exhibition at our shop
over the course of eleven days:
“Hiromi Kiriyama Solo Exhibition
—from Rice-Washing Strainers to Basket Bags—.”

In addition to those who were already fans of Kiriyama’s baskets,
many visitors came who were interested in aotake craft,
as well as those who love baskets
and were visiting our shop for the first time.
We were delighted to welcome so many people.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks
to everyone who made reservations
and took the time to visit.

Especially at the beginning of this year,
as COVID infections began to show signs of spreading again,
we consulted with Kiriyama many times
and carefully considered whether the exhibition
could be held safely.

Even amid an uncertain outlook,
and the unexpected situation of extending the exhibition period by a full month,
Kiriyama himself never wavered.
He continued his daily work steadily,
and in the end created close to seventy pieces
specifically for this exhibition.

The shop was filled to capacity
with an extraordinary number of works.
Opportunities to see so many of Kiriyama’s pieces
gathered in one place are rare.

With the hope that as many people as possible
would have the chance to see them,
we decided to hold an online order event
through our online shop as well.

We hope this will be useful
for those who chose not to visit during the exhibition,
as well as for those living far away.
