“The One Table” Special Exhibition

Baskets of walnut, akebi, and willow, together with Gara-bou spun cotton stoles

Hello.

Yesterday felt warm, yet today I found myself reaching for a thick jacket as the chill returned — such are the shifting temperatures of this season.

Day by day, the cold deepens, and before we know it, winter has arrived.

This stole is one of those pieces that turns the winter chill into something to look forward to.

Whether wrapped around your neck, draped over your shoulders, or laid across your lap, it brings a gentle warmth to both body and mind.

From November into December, our special exhibition will center on the “Gara-bou Stole,” woven from organic cotton by Suno & Morrison. Alongside the stoles, we will also display and offer for sale a selection of baskets that pair beautifully with them — including walnut basket bags, akebi baskets, and peeled willow baskets.

In addition to the versatile medium size, the stoles also come in a scarf size that is perfect for everyday use, as well as a generously sized blanket that can be used as bedding.

Suno & Morrison’s original fabrics come in a rich variety of colors and patterns, and choosing the size and design that feels just right is a small joy in itself.

Made from 100% cotton, they are soft and gentle on the skin, making them suitable even for those with sensitivities or for babies. They are wonderful for personal use, for sharing with someone close, or as a thoughtful gift.

We will also have a selection of warm, handwoven baskets that pair beautifully with the Gara-bou stoles. From Iwate, we are featuring basket bags made from sawagurumi walnut.

Each bag is a one-of-a-kind piece, woven by combining the front and back of the walnut bark, giving every basket its own unique pattern and character.

From Nagano, we will receive a variety of akebi vine baskets.

Along with basket bags and larger handled baskets, there will also be practical storage baskets that are easy to use in daily life. They make wonderful blanket holders as well.

We will also be showcasing many baskets made from peeled willow, brought in from Lithuania.

Their fresh yet warm appearance pairs beautifully with the Gara-bou stoles, and the combination of a stole and a basket creates a gentle harmony that suits the quiet landscapes of winter.

To accompany this exhibition, we will also have Lithuanian herbal teas, wooden coasters, stopper clips, and miniature baskets by Gintas available in the shop.

Please enjoy these pieces — delightful to look at, gentle on the body, and uplifting to the spirit.

We look forward to welcoming you.

The special exhibition will be arranged on the center table.

All other shelves will display our regular selection as usual. Along with restocked items, we will also be introducing newly arrived pieces.

We hope you enjoy exploring those as well.
